Here at Soup, we use many different tools to help our clients. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite 10 free tools that you can start using today.


1. Analytics - Google Analytics


Google Analytics is a must-have for anyone that has a website. It is a tool that allows you to understand who your website visitors are, where they are coming from and what are they interested in.


2. Graphic Design - Canva


Canva is a simple graphic layout tool for making digital media assets look better than you ever thought possible. With lots of cleverness to ensure sizes and symmetry are just what you need, Canva is a great tool if you don’t have an in-house graphic designer.


3. Search Engine Optimisation - Yoast

If you have a WordPress website, the Yoast plugin will ensure you are ticking the basics of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to maximise your organic visibility and traffic to the site.

4. User Behaviour - Hotjar

Hotjar records the actions visitors take on your website. You can watch videos one by one or have that information aggregated as heat maps. This is a great tool to discover issues visitors might be having with your site.

5. Tagging - Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager houses all of your marketing tags in one spot. Many tools having a direct link-up (Facebook, Google Ads, Hotjar) so you don't need to ask your developer to implement these on your website every time - one simple implementation and you are ready to go.

6. Task Management - Asana

A great tool for task management and team collaboration. This intuitive tool allows you to set up reminders, add attachments and assign team members to projects.

7. CRM - Hubspot

Hubspot offers a variety of free tools with additional features for paid users, however, if you are running a small to medium-size business, chances are the free version should do the trick. Track all your customers and interactions in one spot, send out personalised emails, sync up with your Facebook marketing activity to deliver personalised offers and much more.

8. Search Engine Analytics - Google Search Console & Bing Webmaster Tool

Two must-have tools for any business that has a website. Both of these tools (one for Google and one for Bing) allow you to track your organic search performance in detail, including what terms your clients have used to find your website, what pages are ranking in organic search results as well as any website issues your site might be experiencing.

9. Email marketing - Mailchimp

Their Forever Free plan is completely free for up to 2,000 list subscribers and up to 12,000 emails a month and it includes A/B testing, analytics and reporting, email design templates and much more.

10. Topic research - Answer the Public

Need to know what topics your prospective customers are searching for in relation to your business? Answer the Public is a great tool that helps you understand the perfect blog and social post topics based on the actual keywords and phrases your customers use.
